Somerville Porch Fest

Somerville Porch Fest

This past fall, despite Covid, Somerville Arts Council relaunched PorchFest.

As a reminder, the Arts Council does not provide match making, bands should be performing on their own porches or porches of invited hosts.  You should not register to "find" a place or host.  It is the responsibility of the host (or the band) to ensure you are being neighborly and respectful by informing neighbors of your intent to perform.  You are performing on your own private property not public streets or sidewalks.

Bands and hosts may register now; the deadline to register is Thursday, May 12th. Similar to prior years, to ensure guests can move orderly through the city and view the music, porches located West (west of Willow) will perform during the slot from 12-2; Central (from Willow to Central) from 2-4; East (east of Central) from 4-6.   If you are performing for a shorter duration in that time slot, use the "time" field to qualify that specific time.

Union Square Farmers Market

Union Square Farmers Market

Join your favorite local food producers for the 18th Annual Union Square Farmers Market! Shop local every Saturday from May 14-October 29 from 9am-1pm on the Union Square Plaza.

We certainly hope pandemic conditions improve over the season, but starting on May 14 we will have a COVID-conscious masked shopping hour at each Market from 9-10am. Everyone is welcome to shop during this time period, but masks will be required to enter the Market area.

The Market provides visitors and residents with top-quality, fresh, and local produce at fair prices; encourages healthy eating and active lifestyle values; educates consumers about farming and locally sourced foods; and provides customers with opportunities to interact directly with farmers. The Market also provides information and education about community issues, promotes local activities and businesses, and provides opportunities for the community to gather and visit. We are proud to continue to offer our $15 SNAP match.
